February 13 Marks 16th Anniversary of Raid on Baptist Temple

Dr. Greg J. Dixon

This February 13th, the Indianapolis Baptist Temple Congregation will mark the sixteenth anniversary of the infamous raid by federal marshals, backed up by the Indianapolis Police Department, to collect a bogus tax lien of over $6 million dollars which the church did not owe.  The Sheriff Deparment led by Sheriff Cottey did not participate in the raid. The case went all the way to the Supreme Court which refused to hear the case.  Attorney General John Ashcroft Republican appointee under Pres. George W. Bush ordered the raid on the church and then dedicated six pages of his book, Never Again to this issue after he left office in which he admitted that the church owed no taxes.

Both the Clinton and Bush Administrations Began with an Assault on Religion

On January 20, 1993 William Jefferson Clinton was sworn in as the 42nd President of the United States, on February 28 his Attorney General Janet Reno personally ordered Federal Agents to begin what would be a 51 day siege of the Branch Davidians in Waco, Texas that ended in the fiery deaths of 86 members of this Seventh Day sect including many women and children.  On January 20, 2001 George Walker Bush was sworn in as the 43rd President of the United States, on February 13 his Attorney General John Ashcroft personally ordered the raid on the Indianapolis Baptist Temple in Indianapolis, Indiana that resulted in worshipers being hauled out of a prayer meeting, the buildings padlocked and eventually sold and the sanctuary bulldozed to make room for a Charter School where a Christian School once stood with several hundred enrolled.

American Churches Have Lost their Sense of Shame!

Don Boys, Ph. D

http://donboys.cstnews.com/american-churches-have-lost-their-sense-of-shame

The great Sixteenth Century Italian artist Raphael (known as theBoys “Prince of Painters”) was painting Vatican frescoes when some Roman Catholic clerics stopped to watch his work in progress. One said, “The face of the Apostle Paul is too red.” The artist replied, “He blushes to see into whose hands the church has fallen.” He was reflecting on the condition of the Roman Catholic Church of his day. I feel the same way about the condition of non-Catholic churches, sometimes known as “Protestant” (who don’t protest much anymore) and some known as “Baptist.”

Jeramiah wrote about people who could not blush in Jer. 6:15. “Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore they shall fall among them that fall: at the time that I visit them they shall be cast down, saith the LORD.” That’s where we are today in our churches. Church leaders and laymen can’t blush because they don’t see any wrong in their aspirations, actions, and accomplishments. Nothing seems to be wrong anymore.

The leaders of the Episcopal Church USA, the Presbyterian Church USA and the United Church of Christ left the Scripture long ago and have lost their ability to blush. They departed sound biblical doctrine many years ago, and they’re now celebrating “marriage equality.” Wicked living always follows bad doctrine. These churches advocate transgenderism, but normal sexuality is considered quaint. Other church groups are quickly coming to the same conclusion.
