Daughter of Baptist Pastor Killed in I-95 Crash in Florida

Family’s SUV struck, overturns near Florida-Georgia Border  Force, Gracie with family

Force Family Picture

Little Gracie is bottom right holding her little brother, Caleb. She is standing next to her sister Lydia (in red) , Twin to Mary, standing next to her grandfather, Richard Mooneyhan, holding the other baby boy.  Gracies head can barely be seen.

[Publisher’s Remarks: Grace Force, the twelve year old daughter of Bruce and Melody Force was killed  Saturday evening, May 21, just south of the Florida/Georgia State line in a two car accident.  Only one other daughter, Mary (15) had serious injuries, of the eight people riding in their van, and the two passengers in the car that hit them from behind.   Even though Grace was not wearing a seat belt, we might add that there were not enough for everyone and the State Police said that where she was sitting it would have made no difference anyway.  Bro. Force is the pastor of the Crossroads Bible Church in Ocala, Florida; his wife Melody is the daughter of Evangelist Richard and Anna Rose Mooneyhan of Ocala. Bro. Force and his wife who have seven children were returning from a wedding in Maryland.  Publisher’s remarks continue:

As you can well imagine besides the loss of their precious daughter Gracie, the financial needs at this time is staggering.  The cost of a funeral, and the replacement of a Van, is a necessity for his large family and ministry.  A link has been provided for those who wish to give to the family by going to go fund me.com and search for the grace force family, click on the family pix.  To hear Gracie sing go to You Tube and put her name in the search engine.  No doubt she would have been a great gospel singer of renown if she had lived.  But God’s ways are not our ways.  Even though we sorrow with this dear pastor family over the death of their precious daughter, we think of the greater disaster that was averted when we realize that there were ten people involved in this terrible two car crash and no one was permanently injured, with the exception of little Gracie, and thank God, because of our faith in our risen Lord, we know that her injuries are not permanent.  Mary, one of the twins, was the only one hospitalized in Jacksonville, and she is to be released over the weekend.

A memorial service was conducted for little Gracie at 12 noon this coming Wednesday, June 1, at the Unity Baptist Church in Anthony, Florida.

We trust that all will stand by this dear pastor and his family at this time with your prayers and gifts.  Possibly churches could receive a love gift.  The Force family have no funds, even for the planned memorial service.   Bro. Mooneyhan’s e mail address is: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

NASSAU CO., Fla. – A crash on I-95 near the Florida-Georgia border Saturday evening killed a 12-year-old girl, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Investigators said Ruth Binkley, 19, of St. Augustine, was driving south just before 6 p.m. Saturday when she steered into the inside emergency lane. She then steered back and lost control of the vehicle, striking a Chevrolet Suburban containing two adults and six children from Fort McCoy, Florida.

Binkley’s Toyota Corolla began to spin and the SUV overturned, throwing Grace Force, 12, from the vehicle. She was taken to UF Health Jacksonville, where she later died. Force was not wearing a seat belt, troopers said.

Six others in the SUV were taken to UF Health with minor injuries. Neither Binkley nor her passenger were injured.

The FHP is not sure what caused Binkley to swerve into the emergency lane to begin with.

The investigation and cleanup kept all southbound and two northbound lanes of I-95 just south of the St. Mary’s River closed until about 10:30 p.m.
